General Information

Bridgerland Applied Technology College (BATC) participates in a variety of assistance programs that aid students in covering the costs associated with enrollment in full-time preparatory programs. Financial aid recipients are required to adhere to the standards of attendance, progress, and conduct as outlined in this catalog and as outlined in policy with the BATC Financial Aid Office. Students wishing to apply for financial aid may secure information and applications from the Financial Aid Office.

Grants

The Federal Pell Grant program provides adult students, demonstrating financial need and meeting other eligibility requirements, with funds to assist in paying for costs associated with their enrollment. Apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) may be available to Pell Grant eligible students who completed a rigorous high school curriculum and meet other eligibility criteria. State grants may also be available and are awarded to the students with the greatest demonstrated financial need.

Scholarships

High School Seniors

The BATC Free Start Waiver waives tuition in a preparatory program for recent high school graduates of the local region for the summer quarter immediately following graduation. Applications are accepted directly following high school graduation and should be submitted to the Student Services office. Application available spring 2009, please check back.

BATC awards the BATC Scholarship to graduating seniors of the local region who have demonstrated a desire to succeed in a technical area and are serious about attending and completing training at BATC. Click to download Instructions / Application

The Utah State Office of Education selects recipients for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Scholarship. The CTE Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors throughout Utah. Click to download Cover Page / Application

Adult Students

The BATC Adult Tuition Waiver is awarded to adult students on the basis of merit and need. This award is open throughout the year and awards students with tuition waivers up to $1,000. Click to download Cover Page / Application

VA Education Benefits

VA Education Benefits: The Utah State Approving Agency for Veterans Education approves BATC programs for payment of VA education benefits. Veterans and other eligible persons receiving VA education benefits must meet satisfactory progress and attendance requirements to continue to receive benefits. These requirements are contained in an Enrollment Agreement Addendum for Students Receiving VA Education Benefits, available in the Financial Aid Office. As stated in the enrollment agreement addendum, veterans and other eligible persons not maintaining satisfactory progress and/or attendance may have their benefits discontinued. Students receiving VA education benefits are also required to adhere to other school policies including student conduct. Other Sponsorship

BATC works closely with various government and private agencies who may sponsor adult students. Agencies include Department of Workforce Services and Utah State Office of Rehabilitation. Others may also be available. Questions regarding services rendered should be directed to the agency. A listing of community aid and other services is available at the Financial Aid Office.

Loan Programs

BATC does not participate in or endorse any loan program. BATC does not encourage student participation in any loan program, and does not accept responsibility regarding any information, advertising, processing, certification, student tracking, repayments, etc… associated with any loan students may secure in regard to enrollment at BATC.
