Bridgerland Applied Technology College (BATC) has established a Summer Transition Waiver for graduating seniors from high schools in the Bear River Region. This waiver is for:

(1) students who would like to complete the certificate or associate program they have been enrolled in at the College and

(2) other seniors who are planning on attending BATC for the first time after graduation.

The Summer Transition Waiver is only applicable to the tuition costs for the July through September payment period immediately following graduation and cannot be held or transferred to other enrollment periods.

This Summer Transition Waiver is available in all BATC programs leading to a:

• Certificate of Proficiency or
• Certificate of Completion or
• an Associate of Applied Technology Degree.

Students who did not meet progress and attendance standards while enrolled at BATC will not be considered for a Summer Transition Waiver.

Procedures

Students will be required to complete the standard program enrollment process (testing, orientation, etc.) in order to apply for the waiver.

Students will be required to meet satisfactory progress standards, which will be reported by program instructors to the Financial Aid Office, in order to maintain their waiver.

In programs with waiting lists, students will be added to the list, and the waiver will be applied from the date of enrollment until the end of the payment period (September 30).

During the waiver period, students will be encouraged to seek other financial aid (Pell Grant and other BATC scholarship options) to use during subsequent payment periods.

Students will be required to enroll for a minimum of 15 hours per week for the duration of the waiver period.

Seniors interested in this waiver should complete a BATC High School Summer Transition Waiver Application available in the Student Services Office.
